Since we have moved into our new home, I have been so excited to start organizing and decorating our kitchen. One of my 1st projects on my list was to create a fun and interactive hot beverage bar that my family could use throughout the year. I wanted to create a space for quick hot drinks, but at the same time adding some visual interest to my kitchen countertops too!
My family typically drink hot teas during cold winter days or when we are a bit under the weather and want a bit of tea to soothe the soul and clear the seasonal colds away. We also LOVE hot chocolate or anything sweet, to be honest with you. In addition to our favorites, I wanted to have coffee accessible for guests and for myself too. I typically don’t drink coffee on the regular… I drink it for the days I have extended business travel or long meetings.
So I thought to myself, how can I have all of our wants in one space? After looking at different ideas from vlogs and Pinterest I came up with the perfect hot beverage bar for my family.
Since it was the holidays when I created my hot beverage bar, I decided to create a Christmas themed bar. The first things I added to my bar were these cute winter wonderland and peppermint striped mugs from Sur La Table!! I can not believe that I have not shopped in this store before!! If you live in the Austin area, you will find the Sur la table store at the Domain!! This store is a kitchen fanatics dream!! If you don’t live close to this store, you can also visit them online.
Secondly, I wanted to add a cute sign bringing a call to action for my family and guests to see. I love this free “Baby It’s cold outside” free printable sign from mountainmodernlife.com. It was a perfect fit for my hot beverage station. I decided to place this printable inside of my rustic picture frame I purchased from my local Kirklands.
After adding the cute sign, I thought to myself, wouldn’t it be cute to have some cocoa and cinnamon available to garnish our sweet creations? So, I decided to purchase these adorable holiday powdered sugar shakers from Sur La Table too!! They are too cute! Now when the holiday-themed look is over, I can just modify them by covering the theme with pretty scrapbooking paper to make them fit in for the season. (I will share with you that idea later)
Now, this hot beverage bar was in need of a beverage maker, right? I was so excited to add our new Keurig to my beverage bar! It was a recent Christmas gift from my mom and pops!! It’s the Keurig K300 2.0 Brewing System. So far I love it because of its fast brew, and I no longer need to steep teas or mix hot cocoa packets anymore. A girl’s dream!
Lastly, I added some containers to stock our treats and k-cups. Inside one of my containers, I decided to add our favorite k-cups of Twinings chai tea latte, hot cocoa, and my Panera hazelnut coffee. I wanted them inside clear containers to make it easy to find for my family and potential guests that my visit. Inside the second container, I added marshmallows!! We love sweets treats to add to our hot chocolates. Lastly, I added a clear jar that houses cute red & white paper straws and candy canes!
Overall, I am so happy with the way our hot beverage bar as turned out, and I can’t wait to update it throughout 2016. You can change your beverage bar to fit any season such as valentines day, Easter, etc. If I decide to make any changes to our bar, I will share an updated post with you all. Until then, I hope that you have enjoyed this post and I also hope it inspires you to create a fun beverage station for your home too!
