Giving your bedroom a new and fresh look is easier than you may think! Most people believe that you will have to make a huge investment in order to design a space that is cozy, bright, and modern and, that is not true!
As a home decor enthusiast, I love transforming spaces in my home, especially our owner’s suite. For me, this space needs to scream sanctuary. A space that is filled with calming tones and textures that will foster a good night of rest, how about you? If the answer is yes, then stop scrolling now!
Today, I will share with you 3 decor items that will instantly refresh your bedroom. Yes, just three easy pieces that will refresh your space in minutes! The decor items I used to refresh my owner’s suite are a new comforter set, new lamps, and a comfy rug all from Wayfair. This bedroom refresh was completed on a budget of $300! Yep, no joke only $300 for an instant facelift.
So, with that said, I will stop talking and walk you through my process. Are you ready? Let’s get started. (Note: This post is sponsored by Wayfair. When you click on a link and make a purchase my blog receives a small commission.)
1. Toss Out The Old Bed Linens For An Instant Upgrade!
My first go-to item for refreshing a bedroom will always be a comforter. Why? The bed frame takes up about 60% of the space in a bedroom and it’s the first piece of decor you will see. With that in mind, it is important to find a comforter that is eye-catching, calming, and functional. Ultimately, find a comforter that fits your personal style!
For my home, my goal was to create a calm and neutral color palette. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know how much I love the neutral decor trend. So my eyes were immediately drawn to this beautiful tan reversible comforter set by The Twillery Co at Wayfair.
What I love about this set is the tan color option is so soothing to the eye, it features a beautiful tufting, and it’s reversible! How amazing is that? It’s like I get two comforters for the piece of one. This set also features a match pillow sham for those of you that love to have accent pillows. If you are not a fan of the tan color this set is also available in gray and blue.
2. Brighten Your Nightstand With New Lighting.
Having an alternative light source other than the overhead lighting continues to trend in home decor. A bedside lamp is decorative and functional in the bedroom. I personally love using them when especially when I want to finish reading a good book, like Elements of Style, before dozing off to the land of dream time.
I opted for a simple yet stylish lamp for our nightstands. The Heming lamp set by Beachcrest Home is 25″ in height and features a white ceramic base with a light geometric design. If your bedroom furniture is dark in color a great way to create a beautiful contrast is selecting decor pieces that are lighting in color. Additionally, select nightstand decor pieces that are lighter in color as well.
3. Elevate Your Flooring With An Accent Rug
We all know that rugs are known for adding warmth to any space. However, rugs are also known for elevating the look and feel of a space with the many colors and textures that are available today. Whether your style is traditional, modern, farmhouse or Boho adding a neutral rug into any space adds texture, dimension, and interest to the eye.
When deciding on a rug for our bedroom I wanted a piece that was neutral in color with a mute design. Why? On occasion, I love to switch out my linens from time to time. If I were to select a rug that is too colorful I will not have the flexibility to switch out my linens, so keep that in mind when you make your selections.
The rug I decided to select for our room is the Addilynn Abstract rug in the cream, beige, and light gray tone that approx 10″ x 8″ in size. What won me over with this rug is the muted pattern and the distressed/worn look that is designed into this piece. And let me tell you when I step on this rug it is super soft to the touch! So keep that in mind, too!
Well friends, are you now a believer? You can refresh your bedroom without spending thousands of dollars by focusing on 3 major decor pieces that will instantly enhance your space. I am curious to know what was your favorite addition to this space? Was it the bedding, rug, lamp, or all 3? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Until then, stay happy, well, and healthy.
